Financial Analyst – Compliance/Reporting/Technical

AFT Budgeting Organization

Please Note: As per current corporate policy, you will be required to be IN THE OFFICE three days per week (Mon, Tues & Thur) @ 241 Ralph McGill Blvd., Atlanta, GA and/or as required.

This position will be hired at an Exempt Level 3, 4 or 5 level depending on experience.

Summary of Position Duties

The Financial Analyst position will provide reporting support and training to internal team for insight on and influence for financial business decisions that will drive growth, operational excellence, and process improvement including, target setting, reporting and analysis, planning and forecasting, corporate financial direction.

Provide planning and support to AFT that supports organizational goals to meet corporate and business unit goals and objectives; ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations that govern our business; establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with internal team and corporate partners to achieve these objectives.

Be proficient in data management skills and have working knowledge and technical training in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Oracle Financial Systems, SmartView, SOAR, SQL, Access, and system processes for AFT Budgeting.

This position will support GPC budgeting with special projects support, Oracle Financial System process and support, and assist in coordinating the timely and accurate data gathering and analysis of ad hoc billing and reporting to various levels of management.

Job Experience and Education

  • B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related field required

  • Experience Finance or Accounting, or similar experience highly desired

  • Experience of database systems, although not required, is encouraged, or similar experience highly desired

  • Basic understanding of GAAP and FASB

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Firm grasp of key financial concepts- Net income, EPS, cash flow analysis, revenue requirements

  • Familiarity with financial and accounting principles and procedures, General Accounting Procedures and Corporate Guidelines

  • Working knowledge of financial management information systems and tools (Microsoft, Oracle, PowerPlan, Maximo, etc.)

  • Strength in communication and training for complex processes to peers and managers

  • Knowledge of data analytics platforms (Oracle Analytics, Power BI, etc.)

  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Access/Excel, Toad for SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Management, Visual Studio, Polybase

  • Ability to manage stress and balance multiple priorities while producing high quality work under intense workloads and pressure

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Creative analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated database management skill

  • Excellent computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and financial support to the AFT Budgeting team

  • Have ability to understand complex processes and technical information and translate it to useful business unit and executive reporting

  • Be a self-starter to identify gaps in reporting and systems processes

  • Assist in creating reports as needed to support financial analysis across the organization

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners to develop useful and meaningful reports that deepen business understanding for AFT team

  • Understanding of Budget Preparation and Financial Reporting

  • Ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of financial information

  • Develop reporting 5 year budgets annually with the assistance of key stakeholders.

  • Supporting organizational objectives for AFT team to ensure business unit targets are met

  • Assist team with technical training for understanding the financial systems as well as facilitate internal reporting questions and requests

  • Prepare and support billing for external

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications within AFT

  • Lead and/or manage special projects as required

  • Occasional Travel and extended overnight stay for on and off system storm logistics and other business needs is required
