Southern is Hiring a Coordinator, Talent Acquisition Near Naperville, IL

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Coordinator is a key member of Southern Company Gas Talent Acquisition team supporting a range of corporate and field-based clients. Your success in this role will depend upon your passion around full-life cycle recruitment while emphasizing a positive candidate and hiring manager experience. A big part of this role will be to support the recruitment team at each stage of the process with a focus on the administrative functions while allowing the recruiter to focus on direct sourcing, screening, and consulting.

This position is located at the Nicor General Office in Naperville, IL. Schedule will be hybrid consisting of in-office and remote work. Some travel for off-site events and company meetings will be required.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Interacts with various levels of candidates, human resources and hiring managers to schedule interviews such as:

  • Phone screens for recruiters, supervisors and hiring managers

  • On-site interviews (panel and sequential; reserving interview rooms)

  • Video conferences

  • Coordinating travel arrangements and expense reimbursement as needed

  • Sending interview confirmations to interview panel and candidates

  • Meets and greets candidates who arrive for interviews

  • Assists with the assessment process, as needed, to include:

  • Scheduling

  • Reporting

  • Interacts with prospective new employees, HR and hiring managers to ensure a successful and positive on-boarding experience

  • Meets new employees on their first day at select locations to ensure accurate, timely, compliant completion of I-9 and E-Verify processes

  • Helps in communicating the recruiting process and solving problems that arise

  • May assist with posting, maintaining and refreshing job requisitions to various relevant academic and professional sites upon request

  • May provide support with career awareness events such as career fairs, informational sessions and interview preparation programs with local community groups, Technical Colleges and military bases

  • May assist with running reports from Oracle HCM, Excel

  • Continuously looks for ways to improve the process ensuring clients, candidates and new hires have a positive experience

  • Balances critical priorities with personal self-development initiatives

  • Collaborates with other Talent Acquisition Coordinators, serves as a backup to recruiters as needed

  • Special projects as assigned

  • Performs work in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunity, immigration, and company policy per management direction.

Job Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

  • 3-years of work experience in a human resources or talent acquisition environment strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to engage, consult and partner with both external and internal clients

  • Experience scheduling meetings, appointments or maintaining calendars/schedules with frequent changes

  • Knowledge and prior experience with Human Resource policies and practices

Business/Technical/Interpersonal Skills:

  • Internal and external customer focused

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, client-centric service setting with proven performance in a high-volume recruiting environment strongly preferred.

  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong verbal/written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail.

  • Highly organized with strong follow up skills and the ability to multi-task.

  • Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

  • Team oriented with the ability to flex in support of the timelines, and deliverables of team members

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems

  • Ensure that all matters of confidentiality are adhered to
