WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a Financial Analyst. You will be responsible for coordinating and providing analytical support for SMC's real estate portfolio by participating in the forecast process and analysis of financial and operational information. The individual must be detailed, service-oriented, and proactive. The individual should be open-minded and comfortable asking questions and making suggestions. Excellent communication skills are necessary to successfully collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and to effectively present data in a clear and comprehensive manner. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU: * Participate in the annual residential budgeting process including the creation of key assumptions, reviews of property budgets, and presentations to senior leadership. * Assist senior leadership in reforecasting financial performance for the residential portfolio on a quarterly basis. * Provide support with the analysis of commercial and hospitality budgets. * Participate in asset management reviews including detailed analysis of financial performance, market analysis, and other property specific factors. * Analyze operational data trends for the residential portfolio and individual apartment communities and make recommendations for improvements when warranted. * Create and/or compile ad hoc reports as requested using Excel, Yardi and other data management programs. * Manage and distribute reports and/or dashboards on performance indicators, findings, and assessments. * Perform other duties as assigned. JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: * Advanced MS Excel experience * Good interpersonal skills to work with different management levels * Strong business acumen * Passion for commercial real estate
