The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce seeks a Communications & Events Coordinator who is dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic – to actively participate as an integral part of events, executing the program calendar, and coordinating electronic marketing and social media.

The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce seeks to strengthen, support and promote its Membership and provide a means for sustainable economic development in the Southern Chester County region. The Chamber presents a pro-business agenda, relevant and timely programming, and a commitment to the community in which we serve.
Position Summary
The Communications & Events Coordinator reports directly to the President & CEO. This key employee actively participates in developing and implementing a multi-faceted communications strategy and supporting the Chamber’s programs and events in line with the annual program of work.
Responsibilities
COMMUNICATIONS
-Actively manages the communications plan calendar in line with the organization’s annual goals:
Social Media Marketing Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the organization’s Facebook and LinkedIn accounts
Coordinate social media messaging and implementation based on the organization’s annual Communications calendar
As the Staff Liaison, collaborate with the Communications Committee to provide attractive and informative campaigns
Monitor social media content
Track performance of campaigns based on Communications calendar
Media Relations
-With the President, craft media releases, announcements, and other public relations materials --Ensure clear, consistent, relevant messaging is communicated on topics including leadership announcements, programming and events, and general news.
-Coordinate photography requirements, picture taking at programs & events, manage online photo gallery process following events
-Review and maintain content and layout of key landing pages based on Communication calendar
PROGRAMS & EVENTS (P&E)
-Participate in P&E planning, including maintaining the organization’s annual program of work.
-Participate in organization and execution of Signature P&Es such as Annual Meeting Breakfast, Annual Gala, Scholarship Golf Tournament, and Annual Luncheon.
-Participate in organization and execution of monthly networking events such as Network at Noon and Business After Hours.
-Serve as Staff Liaison for the annual Silent Auction (Gala) – oversee process and work alongside Member volunteers who serve on the Auction Committee
-Oversee P&E technical and AV requirements
-Coordinate member volunteers providing support P&Es
-Maintain a positive and supportive working relationship with Chamber Member venues and vendors
RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
-Administrative tasks in line with the position
-Represent the organization at all programs and events
-Engage members about the value of being an active member of the organization
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field including Business, Communications, Marketing
One to two years of qualified experience in communications, marketing, events
Proven organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and well
Proven writing skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation
Proven ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Basic graphic design knowledge and skills
Additional Information:
30 hours/week: five days/6 hours per day or 4 days, 7 1/2 hours per day.
Eligible for overtime.
Health insurance stipend.
Paid time off; generous holiday schedule
