Dietary | Cape Girardeau, MO | Full Time

• Introduces dining service program and menu all newly admitted patients
• Allow patient to select time and meal preference per diet order
• Assembles hot and cold foods and beverages as directed by the Dining Services Director or designee
• If directed, GSR may need to assist in other duties as assigned to carryout meal assembly.
• Follows menus for regular, texture modified and therapeutic diets.
• Completes cleaning and stocking of patient pantries, and records temperatures per hospital policy.
• Assembles snacks, nourishments and tube feeding, according to hospital policy, resident food preferences and physicians’ orders.
• Stage tray prior to match tray standardization prior to patient delivery
• Checks patient trays against ticket for accuracy (verifying two patient identifiers match)
• Transports trays for meal service, ensuring proper temperatures.
• Consistently practices key sanitation procedures and policies, especially hand washing, proper food storage and maintaining appropriate temperature of foods.
• Cleans and sanitizes utensils and food preparation areas after use according to policy.
• Follows posted cleaning schedules utilizing proper sanitation and cleaning methods.
• Practices safety, infection control and emergency procedures according to hospital policies.
• Consistently sanitized hands in and out of patient rooms in accordance with hospital policy
• Upon hire, receives training on modified diets and how to use the tablets/computers.
• Monthly, attends all in-service education and staff meetings as required.
• Is courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all guests, team members, clinical support personnel, and client personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Director or designee.
• Proficiently provides outstanding service recovery when necessary to recover patient/customer satisfaction

• Working in quantity food service and delivery settings required
• Experience working in a long term or acute care hospital environment preferred
