Southeastern Spine Institute is Hiring an Accounting Specialist Near Mount Pleasant, SC
- Inputs | Manages the payroll process
- Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- In support of the Controller, ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
- Reconciles all vendor statements in order to search for outstanding invoices.
- Responsible for oversight of daily accounting procedures including the management, review, and reconciliation of bank accounts for practice and ASC
- Manages all cash deposits for SSI and ASC; manages all cash, credit card, and electronic deposit entries in checkbooks. Researches all deposit discrepancies.
- Assists reimbursement department with month end closing functions which include reconciliation of cash receipts with account receivable postings, and research of discrepancies
- In support of the Controller, prepares journal entries for month end close, reconciles GL account balances, and prepares financial statements
- Responsible for office equipment, supplies, and related contracts
- Responsible for tracking daily cash flow
- Oversees Membership and Renewals for all MD/PA
- Creates and tracks invoicing/AP for ASC
- Responsible for month end closing and reporting for practice and ASC
- Responsible for oversight and completion of Payroll, 401k, benefit tracking.
- Certifies compliance with exterior vendors
- Estimates taxing for physicians’ monthly sales and use taxes, year-end, and 1099
- Provides monthly, quarterly, and yearly analysis as requested
- Analyzes and reports cost variances
- Serves as a liaison to exterior vendors as well as auditors
- Follows all corporate/governmental deadlines
- Provides month end budgeting reviews
- Executes proper processing of check print as well as manual checks
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance
- 2 years of related experience
- Preferred Accounting Background
- Position is in an in-house office environment and requires full range of body motion, as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required.
