About the Position:
The ACT Team Supervisor fulfills the role of the “Team Lead” on the ACT team. The ACT team lead works closely with the Manager and Program Director to fulfill a vital role in supporting the ACT team to maintain a state monitored fidelity and to be a primary coordinator, in partnership with the Program Director, for the state auditors during the annual fidelity assessments. The ACT team Supervisor also plays a significant role in assisting the ACT Program Manager by providing supervision training and ongoing support to assigned staff members, helping to maintain consistency in the delivery of client care plans as developed through a collaborative team process, and other duties as a support to the ACT Program Manager in order to support improved client care and quality program services delivery. The ACT Team Supervisor also supports clear communication within the team and provides direct therapy and Case management services to ACT program participants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This is a full-time position with 100% of Time devoted to the ACT team and 50% of that time devoted to a combination of direct client service, and ACT team members supervision (1:1 or Group) per ACT Fidelity.
  • Understand and monitor ACT fidelity requirements and work with the ACT Program manager and Program Director to develop strategies to implement changes in service delivery or quality assurance monitoring when necessary.
  • Communicate and coordinate with OCEACT (ACT program state oversight agency) representatives for annual state fidelity reviews and quality management.
  • Review annual state review results with the ACT team and support the follow-up of any impact to services delivery or quality assurance improvements suggested by OCEACT.
  • Provide direct supervision to assigned supervisees and produce supervision notes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships and provide individual therapy and case management to ACT Program clients. Help clients identify individual strengths and resources needed to manage and overcome ongoing personal barriers to living independently in the community. Assisting with the development and implementation of individualized plans.
  • Provide wrap around support as necessary and appropriate, including participating in care coordination with community partners and/or natural support persons.
  • Work with clients to provide therapy and case management support in the environment that provides the best opportunity for success, including conducting therapeutic sessions in the community, and/or conducting home visits as necessary and appropriate.
  • Provide direct support to clients in navigating systems, and identifying and acquiring basic needs (food, clothing, housing, medical care, etc.)
  • Conduct mental health assessments intakes and updates, develop individualized support plans, and document services as appropriate.
  • Coordinate, conduct, or oversee therapeutic group projects as assigned.
  • Understand that many individuals have been traumatized and strive to constantly provide services from a respectful, trauma-informed perspective.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to client care, including scheduling appointments, completing all required paperwork, meeting requirements regarding productivity and dependability, and participating in quality and completeness reviews.
  • Engage in continuing education activities and training, and maintain appropriate continuing education credits as required by board and licensure, as well as continually building therapeutic skills.
Provide Support to Team
  • Attend assigned team leadership meetings, and coordinate with other members of leadership to help support clear communications within the ACT team and agency as a whole.
  • Support ACT Program Manager with ensuring adherence to and provide clarification on agency policy, procedures, standards, and practice in accordance with applicable administrative rules and requirements and in line with the agency mission and values.
  • Cultivate a work environment where respect, empowerment, and communication support a high-quality, competent, and committed staff.
  • As requested, identify clinical decisions, information, concerns, etc. that are happening within the team that can be addressed within the team, and work with the team to identify and implement solutions and actions.
  • In partnership with the ACT Program Manager, provide support and leadership to the team particularly surrounding complex cases and clients.
  • In partnership with the ACT Program Manager provide training and support to new team members as required.
  • Provide professional development supervision to assigned supervisees, including developing a collaborative relationship with supervisees and reviewing clinical and administrative work with supervisees.
  • In partnership with the ACT Program Manager, support and advise supervisees regarding specific client and clinical concerns, as well as self-care topics.
  • In partnership with the ACT Program Manager, provide training to assist supervisees with developing and mastering new skills.
  • Participate in ACT team meetings to meet and support ongoing quality client care.
  • Complete supervision notes documenting supervision activities and topics.
  • Additional duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of best practice clinical supervision techniques.
  • Ability to collaboratively problem solve, mentor, and support clinical roles such as QMHP, QMHA, PRSS, etc.
  • Skill in creating and maintaining professional boundaries with supervisees, and ability to balance supportive relationship with supervisees, and clinical team with obligations to clients.
  • Advanced skills in the practice of therapy, including ethics, goal setting, theoretical orientations, assessments, and client conceptualization.
  • Skill in building therapeutic relationships with clients in individual, family, or group settings and provide therapy within scope of training.
  • Ability to work well with a clinical team and collaborate on quality client services delivery with a multidisciplinary and diverse team.
  • Ability to conduct DSM 5 diagnoses and mental status examinations.
  • Knowledge of theoretical frameworks for psychotherapy, as well as case management and skills training techniques and resources for the SPMI population.
  • Skill in de-escalating stressful situations and providing appropriate support to clients in crisis.
  • Ability to clearly conceptualize a case, and communicate that conceptualization to others.
  • Knowledge of best practice suicide risk assessment and safety planning techniques, and ability to assess health and safety risks.
  • Ability to conduct mental health assessments according to standards set in Oregon Administrative Rules including identifying precipitating events, gathering histories, and assessing relationships.
  • Understanding of supervising, and coaching a range of staff in a safe and supportive workplace and the ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities, collaborate, and calibrate participation.
  • Ability to see the big picture and to prioritize time, resources, and efforts.
  • Ability to balance clinical, cultural, and ethical values with financial and organizational needs.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sound computer skills.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in the related fields of therapy to include social work, professional counseling, or psychology.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience.
  • Previous work with the SPMI population preferred
Essential Job Functions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, move, talk, hear, and manipulate equipment, as well as lift and move objects, equipment, and supplies. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Lift up to 40-50 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must travel regularly using a personal vehicle to locations throughout the community, including client homes.
The employee works in well-lit, clean environments. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. May work evenings or weekends. The employee may occasionally work with angry or hostile clients or members of the public, work with toxic substances and biohazards, and be exposed to infectious illnesses.
