Job Responsibilities include:
· Provide peer support services to CCBHC clients
· Participate in the crisis program by providing informal peer support and outreach; work with members of the team to enhance the service, participate in team meetings and supervision.
· Become certified in Wellness and Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Wellness Health and Action Management (WHAM) and/or Smart Recovery and provide these evidenced based groups.
· Provide hope and encouragement to support people in their recovery and assist them in connecting to the community.
· Provide opportunities for individuals receiving services to direct their own recovery process and act as an advocate for the needs and rights of persons served.
· Model competency in recovery and healthy coping skills and boundaries
· Offer instruction and support to help people develop the skills they need to facilitate their individual recovery
· Ensures that services are trauma informed, culturally sensitive, recovery focused and based on principles of Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Integration
· Provide assistance with transportation of participants as needed.
Qualifications:
· A history of lived experience as a mental health and/or substance use consumer, in recovery for a minimum of one year.
· Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, but an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Certified Peer Support Specialist in Nebraska is required OR ability to become certified within 6 months of hire.
Salary: $14-$16/hour base based on experience/educationplus performance-based incentives and bonuses worth up to $6800 per year.
