Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Referral Coordinator. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of patient referrals within our medical office. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. Responsibilities: - Manage and coordinate patient referrals from primary care providers to specialists - Obtain necessary authorizations and pre-certifications for referrals - Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for referred services - Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status and requirements - Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic medical records system - Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely scheduling of appointments for referred patients - Follow up on pending referrals to ensure completion within designated time frames - Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times Skills: - Proficient in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) - Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and medical records management - Knowledge of insurance verification processes and managed care guidelines - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team If you have experience working in a dental or medical office setting, possess strong organizational skills, and have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply for the position of Referral Coordinator.
