We are a fast-growing medical device company in need of a reliable and proactive paralegal for our small legal department. The paralegal will work directly with our General Counsel and other associates to be the primary support on contract management and compliance matters, as well as support on Intellectual Property matters. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping meet the needs of our internal clients.

Responsibilities

More specifically this position will require the candidate to:

• Take ownership of the contract management database to support all functions in the organization with creation, documentation, and maintenance of contracts.
• Maintain compliance with Quality System procedures and company policies.
• Maintain the legal/compliance home page with updates as needed.
• Create reports for the department based on regular reporting schedules and as requested.
• Maintain corporate documentation, i.e., acquisition files, financings, board resolutions, meeting minutes, etc.
• Assist with coordination of IP meetings and filings.
• Assist with coordination of clinical trial materials and ramp up.
• Acquire or maintain notary public license.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
• Associate Degre in Paralegal Studies is required (Bachelor’s degree is preferred).
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Industry recognized certification from organizations such as NALA or AACP.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
