Job Title: Prep Cook

Reports To: Chef and Leadership Team

Summary of Position

Sonapa Grille is seeking a skilled and motivated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our chef-inspired menu offerings. If you are passionate about creating delicious culinary experiences and thrive in a dynamic kitchen setting, we invite you to apply and contribute to the culinary excellence at Sonapa Grille.

What am I responsible for as a Prep Cook at SoNapa Grille:

  • I will prepare SoNapa Grille menu items following all SoNapa Grille recipes and specifications.
  • I will follow all food portioning controls using all of the tools available, including scales, measuring cups, and recipe cards.
  • I will work with a sense of urgency and pace without the need for direct supervision.
  • I will follow all food safety standards for our guests.
  • I will be aware of my station at all times and communicate clearly and professionally with my chef and my leadership team.
  • I will communicate all food related issues with my chef and my leadership team.
  • I will maintain proper personal hygiene by washing hands often and according to food safety guidelines.
  • I will maintain a clean and safe working environment during the shift.
  • I will adhere to the SoNapa Grille uniforms standards at all times during my shift.
  • I will help with other tasks including trash, floors, and any other tasks assigned to me.
  • I will perform all side work assigned and leave my area clean and sanitized at the end of each shift.
  • I will maintain a positive, upbeat attitude every shift.

Line Cook Qualifications:

  • I must have a working knowledge of a full-service, high-volume kitchen.
  • I must be able to read and understand recipe cards.
  • I must have a high level of knife skills.
  • I must be able to use scales and measuring utensils.
  • I must be able to work in a team environment.
  • I must be able to get to and from work.
  • I must be punctual.
  • I must be physically able to bend, reach and lift heavy items.
  • I must be able to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
  • I must be able to follow direction and take input from my Leadership Team.
