Responsibilities:
- Process and submit insurance claims to various health insurance companies.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment of outstanding claims.
- Address and resolve billing inquiries from both insurance companies and patients.
- Perform regular audits to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to verify treatment codes and secure all necessary documentation for billing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing software, insurance guidelines, and coding updates.
- Prepare and present reports on billing activities and financial performance as required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably within a mental health or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding, as well as insurance guidelines and regulations related to mental health services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
