Position Summary
The Information Systems support staff at SSI has a diverse mixture of educational and work experience backgrounds that allow us to support the internal IS needs of our company, respond to a wide range of customer questions related to the operation of our Agvance software and help our customers move to the cloud. Our IS department offers a challenging opportunity for people with strong problem solving and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
  • Customer Service – Quality customer service is an important part of our business. Our technical support staff provides assistance installing our software, solving issues related to connected to devices (printers, scales at the elevator, automated blenders, etc.), and troubleshooting performance concerns mostly through telephone and remote control of those customer’s computer systems.
  • Internal IS Support – The IS staff support all of the internal systems (computers, network, phones, etc.) of the company. We also support and maintain multiple resources on AWS and assist our software development teams with their infrastructure needs.
  • Agvance Hosted – SSI hosts its Agvance software for its customers on AWS. The IS Support staff manages on-premises to hosted migrations and maintain the various Agvance Hosted environments.
  • Research – Technology is changing and advancing at a rapid pace. Internal IS needs vary widely and we continuously research new technologies to meet these needs. Customer issues vary in difficulty and often require research to test the functionality of Agvance in a particular situation.
Experience / Skills Required
  • Comfort/aptitude with Microsoft® Windows systems, networks and configurations
  • Strong problem solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Strong customer service/communication skills
  • Articulate speech (excellent grammar, clear enunciation)
  • A basic understanding of AWS and the services they provide is recommended
