Equiliem is Hiring a Cloud Systems Administrator with Security Clearance Near Washington, DC
Our client has an opening for a Cloud Systems Administrator! This position requires candidates to be US Citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust This is remote (DC area is preferred, as they would like for this person to come in for a quarterly meeting). Primary Responsibilities • Administration & Governance • System administration tasks for both Linux and Windows server based systems including provisioning, deprovisioning, configuration, troubleshooting, and executing platform upgrades. • Plan, coordinate, and execute successful patching of operating systems and installed applications. • Monitor and optimize cloud storage costs and efficiency, employing FinOps strategies to ensure cost-effective resource utilization. • Develop, deploy, and manage scalable and secure data pipelines according to Zero Trust principles • Development & Engineering • Implement automation using Powershell , YAML, JSON, Bash, or other tools to streamline operational processes. • Develop, implement, and improve upon Python based scripts to support day to day infrastructure and continuous monitoring applications • Identity Governance • Perform user account onboarding/offboarding and managing proper role-based access controls in both Active Directory and in the cloud. • Continuous Monitoring • Ensure collective awareness and accurate and timely response to performance related issues through the development, implementation, and use of performance monitoring dashboards and alerts. • Ensure integrity of data streams, ingestion, and transformations of data into Azure Sentinel. • Develop and implement automated playbooks to detected incidents. • Perform regular analysis, tracking, and reporting on the system environment including: • Capacity analysis and right-sizing of virtual machines • Inventory checks • Compliance to security standards and benchmarks • Cloud environment costs, trends, and anomalies • User account access reviews • Incidents that impact system availability • Collaborate with other teams to implement appropriate cloud solutions and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the cloud infrastructure including diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures. • Continually identify, leverage, and implement best practices for cloud environments and virtual machines. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field and 4 years experience in managing compute environments. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Proficiency in both Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server operating systems. • Proficiency in managing IaaS/SaaS resources in a cloud environment. • Demonstrated understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, VPN, DHCP, TLS, IP subnetting and routing • Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure tasks. • Demonstrated ability to independently isolate and resolve problems. • Self-starter that can work independently while possessing the communication skills to work effectively with software development teams and customers. • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development. • Ability to obtain public trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Computer Science or similar field. • Cloud or security related certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, and Certified Information System Security Professional. • Demonstrated experience in converting virtual machines to container-based workloads. • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following server applications: Nessus TenableIO, Azure DevOps Server/Cloud, Jira/Confluence Datacenter. #CJ
