Akira Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer Expert (Business Continuity and Cloud Engineering) to join our team for a critical project supporting the United States Army. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions that support the Army's mission-critical systems and applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national defense while working with cutting-edge cloud technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 

This role is mostly remote with occasional onsite presence in the DC Metro Area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture: Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring alignment with Army requirements and best practices.
• Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) templates and automation scripts using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently and consistently. 
• Containerization and Orchestration: Implement containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerized applications in the cloud, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. 
• Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance controls to protect cloud infrastructure and data assets, including network security, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and logging and monitoring. 
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and cost efficiency, leveraging cloud monitoring and optimization tools to identify and address performance bottlenecks and cost inefficiencies. 
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to enable automated build, test, and deployment processes for cloud-based applications, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, DevOps engineers, and IT operations, to design and implement cloud solutions that meet business requirements and operational needs. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. 
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) in cloud environments. 
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP). 
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and version control systems (e.g., Git) for software delivery and deployment. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative and effective solutions. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
• Active Secret clearance or higher.
