Soft Swerve is Hiring a Catering Server Near New York, NY

New York City’s whimsical soft serve ice cream shop is now branching out and looking for catering team members. Catering team members will primarily be participating at different Street Festivals but may also take part in private catering events in between. Please apply to this job if you love interacting with people and don’t mind commuting to different locations to work at on a weekly basis. If you're someone who dislikes remaining idle and always seeks engagement, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up ice cream stations at event venues, including tables, decorations, and serving equipment. After the event, disassemble station and clean up the surrounding area
  • Maintain inventory of ice cream, toppings, and supplies ensuring that they are adequately stocked prior to and throughout the event
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including BOH staff, servers, and cashiers, to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service throughout the event
  • Manage customer queues by directing them to available service points, maintaining order, and minimizing wait times
  • Prepare ice cream orders aesthetically, consistently, and efficiently
  • Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of non-prepaid events
  • Process cash and credit card payments from clients for non-prepaid events
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner while serving ice cream, answering questions about flavors ,ingredients, allergens, or the company itself
  • Address any issues or complaints from clients promptly and effectively, finding solutions to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, hand hygiene, and sanitation practices
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene by regularly cleaning ice cream coolers, ice cream tubs, and other equipment

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel to event locations throughout NYC - transportation costs are expensed by company where applicable (eg. Storefront to Event Location; Event Location to Storefront)
  • Weekend Availability
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Food Handler’s Certificate

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 25 per week
