SUMMARY
The Field Mobilization and Policy Manager will provide organizational and operational support for the Government Relations office, coordinating daily workflow to manage projects, network engagement, and administrative tasks supporting operations and public policy initiatives. The focus will be on supporting network engagement, advocacy, and public policy initiatives, leveraging relationships and data to advance Social Current's goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Field Mobilization: Build and maintain relationships with network organizations, supporting advocacy capacity building and creating opportunities for engagement.
  • Digital Campaign Development: Assist the Senior Director of Government Affairs in creating digital campaigns to keep the network engaged in pertinent policy issues. This includes developing content for social media, email newsletters, and other digital platforms to raise awareness, educate network, and mobilize support for Social Current's policy objectives. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Data Analysis and Management for Advocacy: Develop and maintain a robust data analysis system to support and expand advocacy efforts. This includes gathering, organizing, and analyzing data related to network engagement, legislative/policy developments, and advocacy outcomes. Utilize data insights to inform strategic decision-making, identify opportunities for growth, and measure the effectiveness of advocacy initiatives. Ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations and standards to maximize the impact of Social Current's advocacy efforts.
  • Policy Analysis & Research: Support legislative/policy analysis and research in key areas.
  • Administrative/Project Management Support: Provide administrative support, including research and database maintenance.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work with Marketing and Network Engagement teams to increase network profile and engagement.
  • Congressional and Executive Branch Outreach Strategy: Collaborate with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to develop and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy targeting both the Congressional and Executive Branch. This includes identifying key stakeholders, building relationships with relevant offices, coordinating meetings and briefings, and facilitating communication channels to advance Social Current's policy objectives within these branches of government.
  • Intern Management: Work with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to manage any in-person or remote interns within the department, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and overseeing their work.
  • Grassroots Network Development: Collaborate with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to develop a grassroots network to support the policy goals of Social Current. This involves identifying and engaging individuals and organizations at the grassroots level, organizing advocacy campaigns, and mobilizing support for key policy initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in public policy, advocacy, non-profit management, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM/database systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

EDUCATIONand/orEXPERIENCE​​​​​
Education: High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Job-related Experience: At least three to five years of related professional experience preferred.

Travel Expectations:
Travel to and attend in-person staff meetings/events a minimum of one time annually.

Location:
This position is based in the Washington DC area.

Salary and Benefits: 

This position will offer an annual salary based on standard work hours of 35 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $77,500. Social Current offers a generous paid time off plan (PTO); medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits; and a 401(k)-retirement plan.
