Position Summary : This position is responsible for supervising shipping and receiving personnel within the El Paso Distribution Center in the execution of receiving, warehousing, inventory management, picking / packing, shipping, and MRO purchasing to meet or exceed customer requirements for accuracy and timeliness of goods received, stored, and shipped.

This position will effectively oversee all day-to-day activities and operations at the Distribution Center, in addition to providing daily guidance, training, and tools for the shipping and receiving team to meet objectives, improve customer relations, and maintain appropriate material flow in accordance with manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage inventory.
• Inspect the warehouse and keep the warehouse clean and safe
• Manage warehouse staff
• Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient workflow processes.
• Supervise the day-to-day operations and activities of Distribution Center personnel too ensure the completion of shipping and receiving initiatives and related projects.
• Evaluate Distribution Center operations, review work of personnel, track costs / budget, enforce company policy, complete performance reviews, make staffing and disciplinary recommendations, and resolve issues with day-to-day operations and / or customers as required.
• Guide, develop and motivate employees, champion individual and team efforts, and aid in the development of staff to achieve individual leadership and company objectives.

Provide technical, organizational, and team leadership for Distribution Center operations and related activities.

• Identify tools / equipment needs and organizational skill requirements, assess gaps in key skill areas and testing capacity, implement activities to close the gaps and strengthen Distribution Center efficiency, and provide input and recommendations to management as required.
• Train individuals in the optimal and accurate utilization of ERP systems to support their pertinent job functions (e.g. SAP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in the field of logistics
• 2 years of experience with SAP or other related ERP systems
• Working knowledge of plant logistics procedures / processes
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Proven ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict resolution ? Proven ability to analyze and interpret business and systems requirements.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management ? Solid organization and time / project management skills.
