SmithBucklin is Hiring an Education Program Coordinator Near Washington, DC

Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, is looking for an Education Project Coordinator to join the Education & Learning Services (ELS) team in Washington DC. The ELS unit plays a critical role in client growth by developing year-round and conference education programs for client members in collaboration with volunteer subject matter experts. Through the team's work on education strategy development, delivery of virtual and online learning, committee management, speaker training, and instructional design, we are able to meet the unique educational needs of each client organization's members.

What You Will Do

  • Support multiple projects and clients simultaneously, working with associates to prioritize and manage deadlines.
  • Manage project plans and project scope, identifying issues and developing contingency plans.
  • Proactively communicate project status, program deadlines, identifying any areas of concern addressing issues to ensure program outcomes are met.
  • Deliver regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Serve as staff liaison to committee volunteers.
  • Work with staff team to ensure integration of education activities with other client programs.
  • Work with volunteer subject matter experts in developing content and program delivery methodology.
  • Manage various educational delivery platforms, including eLearning, blended learning approaches, webinars, learning management systems, virtual platforms, etc.
  • Coordinate all educational aspects of conference program planning (full project planning to include pre-planning, speaker relations and contracting, vendor relations, content development, on-site execution and post event wrap up)
  • Volunteer & speaker recruitment coordination.
  • Contribute effective and creative ideas to client planning and analysis processes.
  • Ensure integrity of communications with internal teams, vendors, speakers and volunteers as it relates to educational programs and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience in corporate and/or nonprofit education program management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the association space is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with/knowledge of industry trends and delivery methods; (i.e., eLearning, blended learning approaches, podcasts, instructional design, processes, learning management systems, certification tracking tools, etc.)
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as abstract management systems (Cadmium is a plus)
