Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves visitors and clients by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
Operates telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for One-Stop Center phone and console operation and maintains working knowledge of console including staff extensions, employee names and job titles.
Notifies One-Stop Center personnel of visitor or client arrival.
Maintains One-Stop Center VOS Greeter System.
Maintains One-Stop Center security by following procedures, monitoring sign-in book, and issuing visitor and client badges.
Supports continuity among One-Stop Center work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Provides day-to-day administrative and Center personnel support by contributing as a team effort and accomplishing results as needed.
Guides clients in improving job seeking and job retention skills.
Assist with creating resumes, thank you letters, cover letters, and business cards.
Assists with special projects as assigned and other tasks deemed necessary to achieve overall goals.
Encourages the free exchange of information in a comfortable and safe environment with no fear of judgment, criticism, or breach of confidentiality.
Collaborates with employers, Business Solutions Team (BST) members, Career Coaches, and the Acadiana Workforce Solutions Job Center partners to identify existing employment and training opportunities in the area and facilitate building new opportunities.
Participates in various collaborative organizational activities for the dual purpose of fostering strong working relationships with other agencies and building the number of active clients.
Assists the programmatic team, business solutions team, and outreach team in the development and execution of informative presentations to the community.
Adheres to applicable federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations to meet public workforce recruitment and contractual performance goals.
Predictable and reliable attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of business and educational services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing valued and timely services.
Customers include both career seekers and employers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in which clerical work was a major duty
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on the basis of six months of training for six months of experience.
Completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required one year of experience.
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for six months of experience.
NOTE:
Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments. Similarly, college training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
