Assistant Project Engineer
As an entry level professional, an Assistant Project Engineer will include, but not be limited to, the following.
Coordinate site access.
Assign laboratory tests.
Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and evaluations.
Coordinate project requirements with client representatives.
Provide supplemental support for our drilling and laboratory departments.
Provide supplement support for other Engineering Department positions (such as Engineering Technician and Draftsperson) including operation, maintenance, and processing of Cone Penetrometer Test equipment.
Involvement in company’s geotechnical instrumentation and remote sensing programs.
Assist others in development and management of the company's GIS and geologic mapping resources.
Education and/or Experience: Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or other related field from an ABET accredited curriculum.
Project Engineer
The Project Engineer duties will include the following items as a minimum.
Plan and implement engineering projects including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements according to the client’s requirements.
Develop and maintain a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
Provide reports on the status of project milestones and adjust schedules accordingly.
Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Identify project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supporting organization managers.
Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
Assign and oversee project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of technical documents, etc.
Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design problems.
Direct integration of technical activities.
Prepare interim and completion project reports.
Interface with clients to provide project status reports and ensure client needs are met.
Provide status and progress reports to client, project team, and upper management.
Education and/or Experience: As a minimum, applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or other related field from an ABET accredited curriculum with at least two to four years of work experience after earning the degree. A master’s degree is, however, preferred with emphasis in geotechnical engineering or graduate level course work and/or a certificate. The position of Project Engineer requires registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist. Professional attainments should include membership in professional societies and active involvement in a leadership role, and delivery of technical presentations to professional groups.
