This position will be responsible for monthly and quarterly journal entries which include reconciliations of all production trial balances. In addition, this position manages the monthly production bill back process as well as processes weekly funding to various entities. Hands on position working directly with Corporate Accounting, Corporate Finance and Production Finance by providing finance & accounting support in various General Accounting areas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly trial balance reconciliations for a high volume of film and tv projects
  • Prepare necessary journal entries to support month and quarter end financial reporting
  • Manage weekly production funding process from corporate to various entities 
  • Manage the film and tv bill back process and issue monthly invoices to productions 
  • Responsible for various month end reporting such as cash on hand and funding summaries
  • Assist with network billing and reporting and coordinating collection efforts on any outstanding receivables
  • Review and summarize FX impact on productions on a monthly basis and as needed when management explores potential hedging opportunities 
  • Oversee with Paid by Skydance intercompany activity reconciliation
  • Drive and participate in implementing/improving processes and controls to create efficiencies in the department
  • Provide supporting documentation for areas of responsibility for year-end audit
  • Assist with bank wires journal entry input into GL as needed
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Qualifications
  • Understanding of GAAP Accounting and Internal Controls
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, highly organized, flexible & dependable
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized and process oriented
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Experience with Intacct by Sage GL or similar systems is a plus 
  • Production accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Excel & Word skills
  • Must have discretion with handling confidential or sensitive information
Education Requirements | Experience
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent. Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field preferred
  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience in entertainment industry is preferred

The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $110,000 – $120,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
