Sky River Casino is Hiring a Safety Manager - Security Near Grove, CA

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing the safety programs for the hospitality, administrative, and restaurant operations within Sky River Casino. The Safety Manager also maintains the Casino's Emergency Operations Plans and implements training to meet the requirements set forth by the California Gambling Control Commission CGCC-7. This position ensures safety compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal, State, and Local regulations. The Safety Manager also works closely with all levels of leadership to assure policies and programs are effectively developed, implemented, communicated, and supported throughout the property.

  • Manages the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and/or equivalent programs.
  • Manages the development, implementation, and administration of policies, comprehensive programs, and systems relating to all facets of safety and regulatory compliance functions within the department. Ensures departmental safety committees are operating according to guidelines.
  • Monitors incident investigations and follows up to verify the effectiveness of resolution, remedy, and/or repair. Ensures appropriate corrective action when health and safety hazards exist.
  • Oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of safety training programs for team members to support operational efficiency. Manages the development of safety policies and procedures; organizes and directs the team members within the Facilities Safety Team and their supporting activities.
  • Assists team members with any questions and safety concerns.
  • Audits workplace and team member behaviors to ensure training and safety programs are fully implemented.
  • Assists in planning and implementing various departmental training programs.
  • Tracks and evaluates industrial injuries to ascertain unsafe practices and determine if counseling or further training is required.
  • Prepares and distributes reports of injuries/illnesses to departments.
  • Ensures all written workplace programs are annually reviewed and updated.
  • Maintains an effective relationship with regulatory agency representatives. Accompanies them on all formal site inspections.
  • Attends safety and health seminars to update knowledge and exchange ideas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Occupational Safety or related field is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing functions, teams, or departments is required.
  • Working knowledge of current health and safety standards, including OSHA general industry standards is required.
  • A thorough understanding of post-accident investigation methods, including identification of subrogation opportunities is required.
  • Experience in training program development, implementation, and delivery is required.
  • Must have the ability to lead process improvement initiatives in a team environment.
  • Must be able to meet absolute deadlines.
  • Possess a work history that demonstrates a passion for people and enthusiasm for safety. Must be proficient with emergency planning and
