About the Position:
We are seeking a full time Speech Language Pathologist to work in our pediatric therapy clinic(s) located in Washington, DC & Arlington, VA.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program
Current license issued by the state of Virginia and DC
Completion of The American Speech and Hearing Association’s (ASHA’s) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
Experience working with children with special needs preferred
Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices found to benefit children
Possess experience working with children who have feeding challenges, articulation and phonological deficits, and social skills weaknesses and knowledge regarding working with the following diagnoses: Autism, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, and general Developmental Delay.
Training in PROMPT, SOS Approach to Feeding, Social Thinking, Beckman techniques a plus but not required
Must relate well to children from diverse backgrounds and their families.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, online EMR programs, and use of iPad.
Ability to pass basic drug screening.
Role of a Speech Language Pathologist:
Client-based treatment
Provide ongoing parent/family education and ongoing collaboration with other professionals
Plan individual treatment programs based on client’s needs and adjust as needed with regular monitoring for progress
Administer pediatric standardized assessments and clinical observations as part of evaluation
Promote acquisition and maintenance of developmentally appropriate skills for the areas of oral motor, feeding, auditory processing, language, and social-emotional development
Engage children in playful and motivating activities to reduce behaviors that may interfere with learning and cognitive functioning.
Our practice specializes in working with children who have the following diagnoses:
Feeding difficulties / oral motor delays
Sensory processing and motor planning difficulties
Global developmental delays impacting motor function
Neuromuscular impairments
Genetic disorders
Learning disabilities
Autism
ADHD

All staff are vaccinated, wear masks, and respect social distancing when appropriate. Most patients are masked. Waiting rooms are closed at this time. We also have staff and patients answer a daily health screening.
