- Retain useful and pertinent knowledge on current and aged appliances in order to resolve all issues related to them.
- Able to manage use of time, work independently and demonstrate initiative to accomplish assigned duties.
- Be a good problem solver and mechanically inclined.
- Service and inspect residential gas and electric appliances and equipment to comply with codes and ensure superior service in terms of safety and reliability.
- Demonstrate efficient, accurate and productive work practices.
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand electrical schematics and electro-mechanical relationships.
- Maintain professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Be a good communicator and handle and resolve customer relations in person and on the spot.
- Complete recordkeeping associated with appliance service functions to ensure an accurate information system is maintained.
- Operate company vehicle safely. Maintain vehicle and parts inventory.
- Identify and utilize personal protective equipment and tools that should be used according to company standards and policies.
- Perform other related tasks as needed
- Successful completion of a certificate or technical diploma program at an accredited educational institution OR a combination of education and/or field experience providing equivalent results
- Have a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to operate relevant hand and power tools and possess general mechanical aptitude
- Direct appliance repair work experience.
- Journeyman Gasfitter’s Certificate of Competency
- Able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally.
- $25-$32/hour
