Job Summary:
The Global Commercial Director will lead CSS's global sales and customer support team and be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing sales strategies and tactics for single crystal SiC wafers and epi wafers. The candidate will report to the CXO-level executives and have a high impact and visibility in the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the annual corporate sales plan to achieve business goals regarding total revenue, volume allocations, product mix, prices, margins, and customer care.
  • Provide leadership support to the global commercial team in setting goals and priorities, removing barriers, driving results, improving internal work processes and tools, and developing people.
  • Lead the efforts in negotiating long-term supply agreements with customers to ensure business success in the long run.
  • Develop and regularly update a comprehensive multi-year strategic sales plan to grow the business significantly in accordance with the fast-growing SiC material and device market.
  • Drive business development opportunities by working directly with CSS’ global marketing, customer quality, and technical team in new customer qualification and ramping.
  • Represent customers by translating their needs into well-articulated requests with priorities, timelines, and executable plans and helping develop a customer-centric mentality inside the company.
  • Constantly monitor competitive environments, interact with customers, and evaluate value chain partners to identify new growth and partnership opportunities.
  • Acting as a thought leader in driving key strategic initiatives and serving as a sounding board for CSS executives.
  • Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly management reports and participate in S&OP meetings.
  • Direct, plan, and coordinate all other commercial activities.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field (materials science, physics, semiconductor, chemistry and chemical engineering, etc.) or marketing or business administration.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in serving semiconductor wafers or electronic materials markets in a sales, marketing, or business development role. 
  • At least three years of experience managing a team with responsibilities such as goal-setting, performance management, conflict resolution, mentoring, etc.
  • Strong semiconductor or electronic materials background and demonstrated capability to discuss technologies with Ph.D.-level scientists and engineers. Semiconductor wafer or device manufacturing/ engineering experience is highly sought-after. 
  • Proven track record in developing strategies and tactics in engaging with customers for qualifications and ramping.
  • Strong strategic negotiation skills with proven success in the past
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to always see the big picture while paying attention to details
  • A good communicator with strong presentation and people-influencing skills
  • A self-starter with minimal guidance needed to be effective and drive results with a strong can-do attitude
  • Cross culture experience and effectiveness in a matrix environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An MBA or Ph.D.
  • Direct market knowledge of SiC wafers and power electronic devices.
