We’re looking for a game-changing software engineer with deep experience building software-as-a-service offerings to shepherd the technical design and development of the Sixfold AI product suite.

In this role, you’ll focus on the big picture of our architecture and system design. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll provide technical leadership for our engineering team. You’ll help us stay aligned on a shared architectural vision and strategy and ensure that our systems can scale to meet customer demand with the performance, reliability, and security required for our business to succeed. You’ll also lead the design and development of some of our most complex and strategic software projects and coach and mentor our technical staff. You will need to be equally comfortable leading a technical discussion, drawing on the whiteboard, and writing code.

What you’ll do:

• Partner with the CTO to set the technical vision and architecture for our service
• Define software architecture standards for the company
• Identify performance bottlenecks and other impediments to scaling our systems, find solutions, and lead projects to implement them
• Participate in project planning and estimation to represent the big picture perspective
• Review and provide feedback timely feedback for RFCs and pull requests
• Mentor our technical staff to level up their architecture and system design skills
• Provide direction and hands-on design and coding for projects that are especially complex, critical, or strategic
• Engage with customers and partners to understand their systems and offer advice on the design of external integrations

Who you are:

Qualifications:

• You have 8 years of hands-on, professional experience as a software engineer.
• You have production experience with multiple high-level programming languages, including at least two of the languages we use: Ruby, Python, and JavaScript. You understand their similarities and differences, can use their tooling fluidly, and can pick up new languages quickly.
• You have strong cloud architecture and system design skills and are an expert in building modern applications for the web. You’re equally comfortable on the front end and the back end of an application.
• You understand the complete software development lifecycle. You can name and explain each of the stages, how your work contributes to them, and how everything comes together to deliver amazing software to our customers.
• You have strong writing and verbal communication skills. You can explain yourself clearly and precisely, write correct and readable prose, and simplify complex concepts with diagrams.
• Bonus points if you have experience using large language models and generative AI techniques or designing and scaling online data processing systems.
