Were looking to add another member to the Sixfold platform engineering team to help enable the growth and expansion of our product line.

In this role, youll help to manage our software infrastructure, automate core delivery processes and workflows, ensure the performance and reliability of our software, and respond when something goes wrong for a customer. Its a combination of infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE, and its a critical part of our technology operations.

What youll do:

• Build and manage software infrastructure to support product engineering initiatives, using automation where possible
• Perform change management for infrastructure resources in compliance with the companys policies
• Enhance our monitoring and alerting as we ship new features and systems
• Own our monitoring, alerting, change management, and incident response tooling, enhance it as needed, and set it up for self-service where practical
• Set and enforce SLOs and error budgets for our systems
• Incorporate and champion practices and tools to maintain or improve our quality of service
• Review engineering design docs and pull requests with an eye toward availability and performance
• Perform load and resiliency testing on our software to find issues and feed them into the backlog

Qualifications:

• You have 5-7 years of hands-on, professional experience as a software engineer, including at least one stint as a cloud/DevOps engineer or SRE
• You have worked with applications and data hosted in AWS and/or Azure. GCP and Heroku are nice to have as well.
• You have used Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools to write declarative specifications for cloud infrastructure deployments.
• You are comfortable with at least one of our primary server languages (Ruby and Python) and are familiar with its concurrency model, runtime resource usage patterns, library ecosystem, and so forth.
• You have done some amount of production troubleshooting of cloud-based software systems and know the general types of problems that can occur with them.
• You have set up or worked with monitoring and alerting systems for cloud applications, ideally using Datadog.
• You have strong writing and verbal communication skills. You can explain yourself clearly and precisely and write correct and readable prose.
• Bonus points if you have experience with large language models and generative AI techniques, even as a hobbyist.
