Sisters of St. Benedict Ferdinand, Indiana is Hiring a Community Health Nurse Manager Near Ferdinand, IN
Reports To: Director of Healthcare & Wellness; Manager of Sisters of St. Benedict Community Services
Schedule: This position is from 2pm - 10pm. (40hrs a week)
Basic Function: The position is responsible for performing a variety of nursing and leadership duties to provide quality health care for the Sisters of St. Benedict.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide short-term nursing care for sisters requiring follow-up (non-skilled) care after surgeries or diagnostic and medical procedures.
Provide assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
Monitor the personal pedant system during the time on duty.
Order/send prescriptions to the pharmacy.
Receive and distribute medications to sisters.
Record all labs and procedures in the medical records.
Assist with hospital labs drawn at the monastery.
Collaborate with physicians concerning sister's conditions, appointments and orders.
Education and Experience Required:
Current Indiana License and graduate of an approved LPN/LVN school of nursing.
1 more years of clinical experience working with middle adult and older adult populations.
Prior experience and sensitivity to the needs of the older adult population
Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical records.

Knowledge of memory and health care issues related to the older adult population.

Attentive to details while anticipating needs; able to act immediately and prudently.
Knowledge and understanding of health care issues of the adult population; commitment to the welfare of all community members.
Knowledge, understanding and comfort in dealing with the sisters experiencing health care issues, both physical and mental.
Skilled communicator
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize, and be attentive to details.
Valid State Driver’s License and ability to drive others to designated locations.
Physical Demands: Occasional standing and walking involved. Occasional lifting, bending, and stooping are required. Visual, auditory, and speech acuity are essential. Some exposure to disagreeable conditions may be encountered.
