How you’ll make an impact:

Staff Technical Program Manager is a key role in support of large technically integrated projects associated with SiriusXM Automotive Product & Technology projects. This position requires an experienced, program manager with strong leadership capabilities, specific skills managing large, technical programs including multiple internal stakeholders and partners. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating, coordinating, maintaining and reporting on large integrated plans; driving team and cross functional accountability; championing and evolving a best-practice, on time program delivery process; organizing all stakeholders and challenging business and technical program team members. Effective communication with business and technical staff, executive stakeholders, cross functional teams in supporting integration testing of multiple simultaneous SiriusXM Automotive initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive high profile internal and external engagements as lead resource for program scheduling, tracking, and maintaining high level, integrated plans across all SiriusXM stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Technical Product Owner, Product Management, and other key stakeholders, coordinate and drive all phases of company programs from inception through production launch.
  • Consider strategic planning, process improvement, and standardization when suitable.
  • Always challenge status quo, seeking new and improved ways to reach the finish line. 
  • Ensure synchronization between company and third-party milestones by removing roadblocks and obstacles when possible.
  • Manage program by establishing actionable deliverables and demonstrable features/capabilities, reporting program status in clear and easy to understand formats, internally, externally and to all levels of leadership.
  • Drive and manage status reports, project plans and weekly meetings to ensure all stakeholders are clear on project status.
  • Manage technical programs within an Agile test-driven development environment in the context of large, often fixed, program milestones.
  • Manage all facets of program deliverables and execution through the life cycle by following the “Product Development Framework” (PDF).
  • Actively challenge, in a positive and constructive manner, business or technical solutions, methodologies, procedures and way of thinking with business and technical team members, to drive improvements in speed, cost and quality of solutions.
  • Proactively govern programs with a clear understanding of program level risk-management, holding team members accountable to provide clear recovery or mitigation plans as needed.
  • Adapting reporting formats and content to fit a wide variety of audiences, from senior executives to working level teams, both internally and externally (OEM/Partner facing).
  • Consistently, maintain and follow up on a team-wide action item list.
  • Support the planning and implementation of systems and platforms in support of modified and new services.
  • Provide oversight and guidance ensuring Automotive program milestones are met, while collaborating stakeholders,
  • Participate in tracking processes and reporting to leadership on large, cross functional and integrated initiatives and programs including:
    • OEM Launch Readiness – driving OEM launches to meet established delivery dates
    • Release Management – monitoring of releases and approvals including internal enterprise systems and remote, application updates.
    • Change Control – participating in change control coordination for all groups, services, OEMs, models, etc.
    • Coordination with enterprise on problem resolution and system level defect tracking.
  • Assist as needed, when needed - with cross-functional program/project management
  • Travel may be required – less than 10%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum Bachelor level degree from an accredited college, university, or equivalent experience.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in technical program management and processes including management of large, complex, and integrated systems.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies with related certifications preferred.
  • Experience working in a 24 X 7, critical operations environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to diplomatically interact and work cross functionally at all levels.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less senior team members.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking in public and influence team members without authority.
  • Document technical details to help broader audiences understand the delivered solutions.
  • Ability to lead meetings with a clear agenda, goals, detailed and consistent follow-via meeting minutes and tracked action items. .
  • Capacity to work both autonomously and in a team environment with a willingness to take initiative and follow through.
  • Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principle, creating win-win collaborative scenarios.
  • Leadership skills displaying trustworthiness, vision, owning without authority and servant leadership.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to build lasting cross-functional relationships and serve as mediator and connector between teams; both within own organization as well as across the enterprise
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of IT hardware architecture components including servers, networking components, cloud computing, architectures, and related techniques.
  • Holding expertise in one or more areas (Mobile/Web/Backend/Infra/DataScience or Security), in planning and execution.
  • Understands the system’s functionality and architecture down to its core components.
  • Thorough knowledge of frequently used Program Management tools, e.g., MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Monday.com,
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Tempo, Confluence, Visio, Tableau and other relevant software tools needed to do the job.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $135,000 to $172,800 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
