Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical and geriatric care, as well as experience in medication administration and medical administrative support.
Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications as directed by physicians
- Perform basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing EKGs
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance claims
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical equipment and supplies
- Assist with patient education by providing information on medications, procedures, and general health maintenance
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques
- Experience with X-ray procedures is desirable
- Familiarity with coding and insurance billing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
