This is an office-based Monday through Friday 8-5 (1 hour lunch) position (not remote)

We are an Ophthalmology group seeking a full-time medical billing assistant with 1 to 2 years of experience. Recent graduates or externs from an accredited medical billing program with previous medical office setting experience are welcome to apply.

Ideal candidate must have excellent oral and writing skills and understand the entire revenue cycle. Must be friendly and patient when communicating with patients.

Must have the ability to multi-task and work independently. Will need to be able to prioritize duties and be very organized.

Experience with Medicare (part B), PPOs, IPAs, and familiar with multi-specialty billing is highly desired but will work with motivated fast learners.

Able to key in data 5-7 hours daily while communicating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.

Some duties will include, monitoring billing systems to ensure completion, auditing claims and aging, answering company phone call, scheduling patient appointments, running insurance eligibility, confirming patient appointments, review medical records with doctors to ensure proper documentation, etc.

Bilingual English, Spanish, Farsi, or Russian is a plus, but not necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
