Tennis Channel's Senior Accountant for Pickleball serves as accountant and operations manager for Pickleballtv (PBTV), a new joint venture (JV) between Tennis Channel and the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA). This role will manage the PBTV general ledger, A/R, A/P, and full cycle month end close in coordination with Tennis Channel's financial reporting deliverables. As this is a new joint venture, the ideal candidate will have an operational mindset and be experienced in full cycle bookkeeping, including financial reporting and forecasting, cash management, and the creation of operational procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who will work with and support the Senior Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• General Ledger / Operational Accounting
  • Manage the PBTV general ledger in QuickBooks on a monthly cycle in coordination with Tennis Channel closing calendar, including Gain/Loss on JV investment entries for partners.
  • Manage and maintain the books and records for all facets of the JV including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital expenditures, and equity investment accounting.
  • Create and review journal entries as necessary in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reconcile and adjust balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Revenue Reporting / Credit and Collections
  • Work with the Ad Sales Team to ensure accurate revenue reporting and forecasting. Calculate partner revenue share according to the contracts.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Accounting and credit and collections team to ensure accruals are accurate and collections are timely.
• Financial Reporting, Planning, and Analysis
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package to the JV executive management and Board of Directors
  • Update Forecast on a quarterly cycle in coordination with Tennis Channel's FP&A deliverables
  • Manage the cash flow of the business and work with the Finance Team on cash call related procedures and reporting, as well as partners' equity reporting.
  • Work with Corporate Treasury to set up cash procedures to enable a production business
  • Other duties, ad hoc analysis, and requests as assigned.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• C.P.A. or Masters preferred
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a start-up environment
• Production Accounting experience preferred
• Entertainment or Sports experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, including ability to write proficient emails to upper management
• Strong organizational skills, including using task lists and project planning schedules.
• Self-motivated and proactive, should be comfortable working in a dynamic new business environment as well as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Must have the ability to complete all entries and duties timely to meet reporting deadlines.
• Must have the ability to provide work free of errors (highly accurate, without frequent revisions and management review)
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar integrated cloud platform preferred

The base salary compensation range for this role is $100,000 to $115,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
