Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Secretary. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our legal team and ensure the smooth operation of our legal office. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and memos
- Assist with legal research and fact-checking
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Manage calendars and deadlines for attorneys
- Transcribe dictations and prepare legal drafts
- Assist with document management systems such as iManage and Westlaw
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and emails
- Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail
- Excellent proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in legal documents
- Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage or Westlaw
- Proficient in clerical tasks including filing, photocopying, and record keeping
- Ability to transcribe dictations accurately
- Knowledge of legal drafting and terminology
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with legal software applications is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.
