THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking to hire an entry-level Radio RF Installer Technician. The successful technician candidate will be customer service-focused and work under the general supervision of the service manager to perform corrective maintenance on all electronic equipment in installing, maintaining, and repairing 2-way and wireless communications systems as required.

If you don't have all the skills required, no worries! We will provide training for motivated candidates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, discuss, and resolve fixed and mobile two-way radio communication equipment questions and problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner in person on the customer's site, by phone, by e-mail, and at the Silke Communications shop location.
• Performs the installation of radio and wireless mobile and base communications systems per industry practices and vendor criteria including Portables, Mobiles, Base Stations, and Repeaters.
• Perform required diagnostic and analytical tests to diagnose and repair wireless communication equipment.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair to component level on all supported products.
• Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results and use to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
• Operate with the highest level of customer service and work with the customer to determine deadlines, urgency, timelines, and schedules for completing repairs, maintenance, and programming with customers, vendors, and shop management to ensure the resolution of problems meets customers' needs.
• Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility for all supported parts and equipment.
• Reports any accidents, maintenance needs, or repairs to management while using any company vehicle.
• Practices and follows safe shop, site, and driving procedures as required.
• Other duties as directed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2 years of installation service work experience with car stereos, CBs, vehicle lighting, and GMRS radios with DC voltage installation.
• Related work experience in electronic communications repair; or the equivalent combination of technical education and experience is a PLUS. We will train.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, complete work orders, service orders and other documents.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact professionally and courteously with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to complete work orders, service orders, and other documents.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Possess a positive attitude with high ethical standards.
• Possesses strong computer skills, efficient in typing, and has experience using MS Office.
• Willing to work on job sites during various weather conditions, hours
• Willing to take training classes to support work-related jobs.
• Available for flexible hours and occasional overnight travel (15 - 20%)
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass background check/drug

BELOW ARE A PLUS - NOT REQUIRED

• Previous experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and program wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, and antennas for customers.
• Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
• Any FCC license (Amateur, GMRS, GROL).
• IT or Networking experience.
• Understanding of basic wireless principles (VHF, UHF, VSWR, dipoles, yagi, analog, digital).

PAY TRANSPARENCY
