JOB SUMMARY
To pick and process orders for shipment and/or process and put away received inventory utilizing a RF Scanner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Picking Function:
· Utilize an RF Scanning device to scan item location and item number bar codes to confirm items picked for customer orders.
· Scale count less than full case quantities using a battery operated piece pick scale
· Bag, band, or bundle products and apply an item label to each item in preparation for shipment.
· Pick items into a tote and then transfer the tote to the next department zone or to the packing stations.
Packing Function:
· Pack product using bubble wrap and packing paper to minimize the chance of product damage during shipment.
· Confirm the correct item quantity was picked in the shipping process by weighting each product at the packing station.
· Utilize the Company’s warehouse management system to confirm that items were picked and packed properly and generate and apply a packing slip and a shipping label.
Additional Essential Functions:
· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of an assigned set of item locations. This includes: sweeping, straightening and organizing cartons, closing cartons and ensuring all items are properly labeled.
· Remove cartons from a powered conveyor line and stack the on pallets in preparation for shipment.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
· Other duties assigned by Supervisor including but not limited to labeling, repacking, and general cleaning duties.
· Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
· Average lines picked per day
· Average lines packed per day
· Error rate
· Aisle audit scores on housekeeping and organization
· Attendance and punctuality
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
· None
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Regular hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
Regular attendance is expected and required.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· 1 to 3 years of experience working in a warehouse/distribution center environment
SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)
· Must be able to operate an RF Scanner and a portable scale
· Strong work ethic
· Must be proficient using a computer (experience with shipping or warehouse management system software preferred)
· Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
· Must be detail-oriented and well organized
· Must be safety conscious
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Extensive walking, lifting, bending, standing
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
· Must be dexterous and handle small plastic and metal parts
· Must be able read an RF Scanner, computer screen, and scale
· Must be able to work overtime with little notice
· Must be able to multi-task
· Must be able to effectively communicate and work in a team environment
· Must have a general math aptitude
