Sierra HR Partners is Hiring a Finance Manager Near Fresno, CA

Created though a collaboration between Fresno County, Madera County, and the City of Fresno, Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging is one of 33 area agencies on aging in the state of California connecting older adults to information, resources, and services since 1980. We are currently accepting applications for the Finance Manager position based in our Fresno Office. Under direct supervision of the Executive Director and Director of Finance, this position will be responsible for overseeing the fiscal department and ensuring the timely performance of a variety of technical accounting duties including payroll operation, maintaining the general ledger, preparing and submitting fiscal reporting to the State of California, as well as timely financial reporting to management regarding financial audits and operational reviews.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements including maintenance of agency general ledger.
  • Reconcile subsidiary accounting records involving a variety of accounts and transactions.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance in the maintenance of internal controls, electronic accounting system and other information flows to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Participate in financial and compliance audit assignments to ensure dependability of financial records and adherence to governmental financial standards and compliance with grant contract requirements.
  • Supervise the tracking of provider financial reporting and follow up with providers to ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end fiscal reporting.
  • Oversee the processing and documentation of accounts payable, check writing, accounts receivable, handling of cash, and depositing funds in accordance with Agency internal controls.
  • Supervise the preparation of bi-weekly payroll including the review of allocations of time to programs and grants, input information to payroll system and various routine adjustments.
  • Prepare accurate monthly fiscal reporting and year end closing reports for all the agency’s programs including their timely submittal to the State of California.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, or another closely related field with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in accounting.
  • Minimum five (5) years of accounting management experience preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Firm understanding of internal control processes including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong ability to independently analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive accounting reports/budgets.
  • Certified Public Accounting license preferred.

Position offers a competitive salarybetween $70,000 - $80,000 annually with a generous benefits package including Retirement, Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, and Sick Time.
