SUMMARY: As an engineering assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely creation of internal component part numbers, bill of materials (BOM), assembly drawings, implementation of all product changes, ECN’s and deviations. Possess literacy in electronic component and technical data sheets, assembly drawings, and the complete understanding of revision control, the ability to manage time, pay attention to detail while remaining flexible, excellent computer skills and accurate typing skills. Position requires a minimum of one year experience in a similar position. Employee must be able to work well within the team but also requires ability to work independently. The ability to enter information into software programs, such as Unipoint and Sage accurately and the ability to identify discrepancies is very important.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Should be knowledgeable with electronic technical components and have a background in manufacturing processes.
- Possess the Ability to interpret electronic drawings, specifications, component data sheets, BOM’s, ECN’s, deviations and manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to scrub documentation, attention to detail is imperative in order to identify inaccuracies and take proper approach following thorough steps to correct.
- Must understand complete document revision process and how one change can affect multiple other products.
- Responsible for creating internal part numbers, BOM’s, routing steps, assembly drawings for manufacturing, implementing and controlling all ECN’s and deviations.
- Responsible for issuing and controlling all production documentation both electronically in our database system and all hard copies used by production.
- Must be highly motivated, flexible, and be able to perform in a fast paced environment and excel at multi-tasking.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft outlook, word, excel and various software applications.
- Willingness to learn multiple software applications.
- Demonstrated experience working with computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data entry.
- Contract Electronic Manufacturing background A .
- 3 plus years experience engineering and manufacturing.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with changing priorities/deadlines.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to requests for assistance.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and data entry.
- Ability to learn new tasks and/or software programs quickly.
