About the opportunity:

Shutterstock is seeking a Business Affairs professional to take on the role of Global Business Affairs Manager to provide financial support and analysis for our fast-growing Shutterstock Studios team. An ideal candidate will be a key strategic partner with cross-functional teams in managing production plans and budgets that represent our creative vision!You'll be highly collaborative with our Shutterstock Studios Staff, including Producers, Production Managers and Coordinators. The Business Affairs Manager will also be instrumental in managing the administrative elements of a production.

The Day to Day:

• Act as the liaison between Production teams, Sales, Production Finance, and Legal Counsel to address and minimize risk and create solutions.

• Identify, manage, and communicate legal and compliance flags to Producers, Sales and Finance from creative conception to final delivery.

• Provide clear and consistent communication cadences for legal and compliance updates across the teams and leadership as needed.

• Draft and provide third party partner approval language in partnership with Legal to obtain required clearances.

• Collaborate with Producer to develop and maintain a status tracker of clearances.

• Advise on feasibility, budget, and negotiations for talent agreements for creators and celebrity talent; in addition to providing any union considerations as applicable and working with Production Finance and Legal to ensure accuracy in the appropriate agreement.

• Research, clear, negotiate, and issue language/licenses as needed for music, photography, video or other copyrighted material.

• Review Statements of Work to ensure accuracy of scope and legal responsibilities.

• Support Studios Leadership by identifying areas for process improvement, establish best practices and define, document and roll out new processes.

• Build strong partnerships with Sales and Producers by providing smart and creative thought leadership around risk mitigation and deal negotiations.

Minimum qualifications:

• 3 years Business Affairs experience.

• Knowledge of SAG - AFTRA, non-union and minor talent rules and regulations.

• Understanding of copyright, trademark, and licensing or advertising law with an emphasis on broadcast, social, digital content and technology initiatives.
