Sheppard Pratt is Hiring a Chief Marketing Officer Near Towson, MD

Responsibilities:

The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for strategic, operational and fiscal management for branding, marketing, and communications across all channels and across all audiences. The Chief Marketing Officer will work collaboratively with leaders from the department and across the organization to ensure alignment and coordination of positioning, strategies, channels, resources and messaging.

The Chief Marketing Officer oversees a broad range of marketing and communication activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership that promote, enhance and protect brand reputation and enable the organization to meets its strategic goals.

Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of branding, marketing and communication strategies and tactics across all audiences and channels including:

Marketing

  • Leads the development and execution of marketing strategies utilizing industry insights and best practices as well as information provided from across the organization to design comprehensive marketing strategies that drive priority growth and strengthen the organization’s brand.
  • Scans horizon for new opportunities and marketing techniques, brings fresh ideas to leadership and explores new marketing methods. Stays abreast of emerging national, regional and local health care marketing issues and opportunities
  • Directs the process for effective and consistent measurement and communication about quantitative and qualitative results of campaigns, interprets results and adjusts strategic approaches to maximize objectives to ensure the overall value of marketing investments.

Brand

  • Provides vision and leadership to direct the creation, execution and evolution of a cohesive brand strategy.
  • Drives the creative development of brand and marketing campaigns, partnering with external agencies (when appropriate) and internal resources to define and bring to life core creative ideas.
  • Leads the development and execution of brand and brand strategy to support the overall system and individual program initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with teams including Philanthropy, Outreach, Events and HR to identify and execute on opportunities to build brand, connect with donors and engage with employees.

Communications

  • Provides vision and leadership to direct the creation, execution and evolution of the organization’s internal and external communications strategy

Department Oversight

  • Leads a high functioning Marketing and Communications team organized and appropriately resourced to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Develops and implement effective project management and prioritization strategies to effectively manage workload.
  • Coordinates annual budget planning and ongoing monitoring of performance to budget.
  • Identifies, onboards and manages key agency, service provider and vendor relationships. Manages these relationships and partnerships to budget and timelines. Determine when work can be completed in-house vs. outsourced.

Requirements:

  1. Work requires Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  2. Requires a minimum of (10) years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, corporate communications and public/media relations including a solid understanding of digital technology, and industry trends. Healthcare experience highly preferred.
  3. Strategic problem-solver and an influencer with leadership and interpersonal skills.
  4. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project management skills.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills including creative approaches to internal and external marketing and communication platforms.
  6. Work involves a high level of mental/visual fatigue reviewing articles, announcements, social media, and developing pitches, press releases, articles, and blogs.
