Shenandoah LASIK & Cataract Center is looking for a driven and energetic technician to join our team. This candidate must have the ability to manage a busy patient schedule while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Helps the ophthalmologist/optometrist to work up patients and perform pretesting, which includes checking eye pressures and dilating patients eyes with drops for examination
• Assists to instruct patients on proper eye care
• Helps to set-up equipment for the use of the patients
• Advises patients on the correct use of contact lenses
• Ensures the organization of the examination room; this includes ensuring that the examination room is clean and safe
• Assists in the accurate preparation of patients’ paperwork
• Helps in the areas of clerical and administrative functions
• Obtains the medical history of patients

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in an eye care center or medical center a plus
• Ability to present a professional image and ensures cooperation with other medical staff
• Ability to communicate effectively and work efficiently
• Must be a professional by being confidential
• Working knowledge of a variety of computer functions and the ability to answer telephone calls
• Must be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Good attitude and desire to learn

Requirements:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
• Will train

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.34 - $20.88 per hour
