Position Summary
This position works under the general direction of the Manager A and is responsible for overseeing maintenance services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and safety systems of Shelby County Government buildings.
Pay Grade 51
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications
100.00% - 1. Three (3) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND
2. Bachelor"s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, management or a closely related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and may participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
2. Conducts performance reviews.
3. Maintains all work schedules, time, reports and personnel records complete and accurately as required.
5. Administers Memorandum of Understanding for bargaining unit employees.
6. Makes recommendations to management on how building issues should be resolved.
7. Maintains daily work logs and accounts for work employees are performing.
8. Coordinates and oversees contract services.
9. Communicates and reports information to department heads, and local and state agencies to maintain and complete projects.
10. Orders parts and materials in a cost efficient manner.
11. Investigates on the job injuries of employees and completes and submits required paperwork.
12. Performs other related duties as required or directed. KSA's
KSAs - 1. Knowledge of modern management techniques and the ability to apply them in directing work of others.
2. Working knowledge of Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to bargaining unit employees.
3. Working knowledge of Shelby County Government Personnel Policies & Procedures.
4. Ability to develop timetables, manpower projections and ability to monitor and revise as needed to meet deadlines.
5. Ability to prepare budgets, financial reports and cost analyses.
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and other software.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, other department in Shelby County and employees. Disclaimer
