Shawnda Products, a leading manufacturer of industrial filters and vessels, seeks a Production Manager to provide overall leadership and direction to the industrial filter production team in Lima, NY (20 minutes south of Rochester). This position is responsible for delivering safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals for our filter production operations.

Principal Job Functions

Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the filter manufacturing operation, ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. This includes managing production schedules, supporting the team, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring production capacity.

Inspirational Leadership and Team Development: Cultivate a culture of engagement, inclusivity, and collaboration within the manufacturing team, by building and retaining a strong team. Provide visionary leadership, mentorship, and conflict management to a diverse group of manufacturing professionals, fostering an environment of mutual respect and continuous growth.

Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize production and meet production targets. This involves workforce planning and budget management.

Quality Control: Ensure that products meet quality standards and that quality control processes are in place and effective. This may involve implementing and maintaining quality management systems.

Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to health and safety regulations and implementing safety protocols, according to OSHA.

Cost Control: Monitor and control production costs to ensure that the manufacturing process remains cost-effective and efficient. This includes analyzing cost structures, identifying cost saving opportunities, and budget management. Identify and develop strategies and opportunities to improve margins by implementing cost saving opportunities.

Team Management: Lead and manage the filter production team. This includes providing leadership, coaching, and performance evaluations and training team members in various roles.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implementing lean manufacturing principles or other methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Engineering: Work with site Manufacturing Engineer to recommend, develop, and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance. Update and modify manufacturing specs in computer system.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with manufacturing operations, such as supply chain disruptions, equipment failures, and market fluctuations.

Job Requirements

Education & Work Experience

• BS Degree in business or engineering or equivalent experience

• 7 years work experience in a manufacturing setting with at least 5 years of leadership responsibilities

Knowledge and Skills

• Manufacturing and/or mechanical background

• Ability to perform complex math calculations

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Experience working with quality and safety standards within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong lean manufacturing skills

• Experience leading a culture change & transformation

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
