Fernwood is a customer-centric real estate company that specializes in student housing. We are looking to hire someone and train them for a career in marketing and leasing real estate. The Leasing Consultant will lead our Illinois Tech student outreach program in the Bronzeville area of Chicago, IL.

The base salary for this role is $35,000 with an annual incentive of $25,000 or more (based on performance) paid monthly.

Leasing Consultants have the rewarding job of helping our clients find a home! It starts with creating content for social media and our website, hosting events, and working with student groups at Illinois Tech. You will learn how to work with prospective residents to identify their housing needs, tour apartments and sell the value of the company's portfolio with prompt, personalized, and professional service. Leasing Consultants will start in the Leasing Department and are eligible for promotions into Fernwood’s Design, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Maintenance, Technology and Property Management Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead student outreach program at IIT.
• Create virtual tours and property videos for social media, email campaigns, and property websites.
• Respond to initial inquiries, pre-qualify, tour rental homes, follow up, and sign lease agreements with prospects.
• Works as a team member to promote a positive working environment.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong executive functioning skills
• Customer service mindset.
• Ability to interact effectively with residents, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Patience and the ability to react to stressful situations in a professional manner.
• Strong computer skills and use of company issued tablet required for role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably from Illinois Tech.

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES:

You must Pass the Real Estate Leasing Agents License exam within 120 days of start.

The receipt of satisfactory responses to reference requests, and the provision of satisfactory proof of an applicant's identity and legal authority to work in the United States are also required.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
