About the Role

As Legal Counsel at Sharebite, you will work on exciting legal issues as technological innovations continue to require creative and proactive guidance. You will dive in and provide advice on a wide range of legal matters that include but are not limited to product development counseling, intellectual property management, commercial negotiations, compliance, safety and risk integration, and data sharing and privacy. You will be part of a team that offers key strategic guidance to all lines of business to tackle critical challenges and issues. 

In this role you will: 

• Collaborate with all business units and cross-department stakeholders at Sharebite to engage and advise rapidly developing opportunities surrounding the delivery of food and other services to help Sharebite successfully navigate various considerations and continued growth.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting Sharebite’s businesses, often through developing and advancing your own proposed solutions.
• Assist in drafting commercial agreements with partners, with full-view integration of business strategy, risk, and legal controls.
• Serve as an in-house support to provide product development and launch advice.
• Help create and implement policies to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance.
• Help provide comprehensive advice in areas such as IP, Privacy & Security, Competition, Safety, Regulatory, Tax Incentives and Labor Employment issues.

Required Skills and Experience

• J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state (in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law)
• Minimum of three (3) years of legal experience in private practice and / or in-house (preferably at a technology company)
• Collaborative approach with both business leaders and legal groups, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner across functions
• Strong communication and team orientation
• Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to proactively address issues and develop plans to address them

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Five (5) years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house at a technology company
• Experience in offering guidance to or with technology companies
• Experience and high comfort level in advising on a wide range of legal issues related to technology and/or software platforms
