JOB OVERVIEW: Assist Restaurant Manager in all phases of restaurant operations to ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food and beverage, service, cleanliness, and maintenance of all operations. Responsible for complete restaurant operation in absence of manager.

REPORTSTO: Restaurant Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Direct HIW operations and take needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests with Catering and Meeting and Conventions.
  • Monitor servers and busperson adherence to all service standards.
  • Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service.
  • Assist manager to establish and monitor side work duty completion.
  • Maintain bank to Crescent standards.
  • Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift. Check floor plan for appropriate coverage.
  • Check restaurant for cleanliness and set up. Check service stands and aisle areas. Check tables for cleanliness and proper set up.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate daily with the Restaurant Manager regarding special events, house counts, etc.
  • Assist Restaurant Manager in conducting menu classes and taste panels.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company.

  • Maintains inventories of equipment, amenities, chemicals, and other supplies to insure the items are in stock and reorders in timely manner.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff, when appropriate, to ensure standards are met and assigns staff to additional training when needed.
  • Consults with Property Operations regarding projects or general maintenance of public areas.
  • Performs line employees job functions as needed under high volume and emergency situations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the River Ranch manager, such as implementing procedures and operating plans.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to use point of sale. Ability to lift/carry weight up to 50 pounds. Ability to push/and pull carts of products weighing up to 150 pounds. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, can solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
