Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing, Skilled Nursing Long-Term Care (LTC) Facility

Location: Geneva, NY

Shift: 5x8s - 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000

Job Description:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in our Skilled Nursing Long-Term Care (LTC) Facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), you will supervise nursing staff, manage clinical operations, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and evidence-based care to residents. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities. Stay abreast of changes in regulations and implement necessary policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care and resident satisfaction. Implement evidence-based practices, conduct audits, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify potential risks and implement proactive measures to mitigate them. Investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist the DON in managing the nursing department budget, including staffing levels, supplies, and equipment. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of care.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and communication among nursing staff, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate care plans and address resident needs.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training programs for nursing staff to ensure compliance with best practices, regulations, and facility policies. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Promote a resident-centered approach to care, ensuring that residents and their families are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Address concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of long-term care regulations, survey process, and quality improvement principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
