JOB SUMMARY
The test equipment technician will be a member of a team dedicated to conceiving, fabricating, maintaining and implementing test equipment to be used for a variety of precision Servo-valves.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Under indirect supervision the Test Equipment will help maintain, fabricate, iterate and validate test equipment for EHSVs.
· The individual will work closely with engineering and department technicians to fabricate ergonomic, accurate, reliable, and user-friendly test stands to meet customer requirements.
· The test equipment technician will partake in discussions with suppliers of instrumentation, solenoids, manifolds and other procured items necessary to construct automated and manual test stands.
· The individual will be responsible for assisting with any breakdowns pertaining to test stands.
· Making effective decisions when considering multiple options to repair and improve test systems.
· Set up and implement of test methods defined in ARP 490 as well as internal documentations.
· Generate procedures for operation of fabricated test equipment as well as document modifications and repairs executed to test equipment.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
· A willingness to get involved in breakdowns and improvements to essential test equipment.
· Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate breakdowns and maintenance to equipment. Overtime is often encouraged.
· Strong professional communication skills are a prerequisite both written and oral.
· Experience with a variety of test instrumentation including: flow meters, pressure sensors, multimeters, power supplies, accumulators, accelerometers, LVDTs, DAQ systems and other precision measurement tools.
· Strong troubleshooting skills as well as creative thinking.
· Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications Excel, Visio, Word and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
