JOB SUMMARY
Maintenance Supervisor, 1st shift is responsible for demonstrating, practicing, and supervising maintenance staff in carrying out the maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems in support of the operation of the manufacturing facility. This includes coordinating, verifying, and planning daily maintenance activities with a strong emphasis on leadership, continuous improvement, decision making and conflict resolution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Provide expert knowledge, recognition, and demonstration of all maintenance duties to include but not limited to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures and resolutions or repairs.
? Coordinate and assist maintenance staff with the completion of work orders as they pertain to electrical repair, carpentry, plumbing, painting, cleaning, and machine maintenance.
? Ensuring that all maintenance activities in a facility are appropriately carried out.
? Maintaining and upholding the quality and standards of an organization.
? Keeping a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted and maintaining a cycle of the same.
? Ensuring proper working shifts of employees.
? Recruiting maintenance staff and evaluating their performances.
? Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems in a facility.
? Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry.
? Delegating work to subordinates and ensuring the timely completion of the same.
? Filing purchase orders and other documentations for the procurement of spare and replacement parts.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. Bachelor?s degree or an associate?s degree in administration, management, personnel management, or any other discipline with about 2 ? 3 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor or equivalent. Must have excellent communication skills (including the ability to understand complex written and oral instructions), time management skills, and strong leadership skills. Must have experience with planning and executing special projects. Must be available to work 2nd shift, weekends and holidays as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite manufacturing duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
