Service Managemenet Group is Hiring a Mechanical Manager Near Hartford, CT
Shift: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Mon – Fri, Rotating On-Call
The Mechanical Manager has a comprehensive understanding of advanced mechanical systems, construction practices, and preventative maintenance. Experience with modern building automation systems preferred. This position manages all physical operations of the complex, oversees general and preventative property maintenance, construction coordination, safety programs, and contracted services. Must demonstrate an appreciation for high level customer satisfaction and the ability to lead a team by example. Supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Respond to all requests for service by the customer and assign work to staff accordingly
- Manage a cohesive mechanical team across two separate shifts. Foster an equitable teamwork environment with union employees
- Ensure all employees are completing assigned projects and update work order system with any comments to provide overall communication with the customer
- Review outstanding work orders – update work order priorities, completion dates and assignments as needed
- Complete daily rounds throughout scheduled shift every day. Walk the facility, review the employees work, take corrective action if necessary.
- Ensure the staff is issued and using appropriate personal protection equipment and is following industry safety guidelines
- Complete internal mechanical inspections and generate necessary work orders to address deficiencies
- Implement creative solutions for difficult problems
- Maintain inventory tracking system to ensure facilities are properly stocked with routine materials
- Receive all material requests from mechanics including proposals and pricing. Follow the customer's procurement guidelines for entering requisitions and receipts in the accounting software.
- Coordinate with vendors for service and procurement needs
- Send daily shift report to management team regarding vendor services, high priority work orders, facility issues, project schedules, and any other pertinent shift information
- Maintain communications 24/7 with company provided phone. Participate in the management on-call rotation after hours.
